Project
The idea for the Jazz-Makhom project was initially suggested by the Uzbek manager and musical producer Asror Isahodjaev and then developed by Andrea Romani. The central idea is to create an original melting of jazz and the Uzbek maqom tradition, bringing to life “other-ways” the Uzbek maqoms without altering their essence.This project has been developed thanks to a collaboration between Uzbek and European musicians and funded by the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan, then the same concept was extended to other central asian countries

Alonisma
dérive du grec "battre le blé" et signifie errer, voyager de façon chaotique, et faire des erreurs fréquentes (du latin "errare", errer ou se tromper)
Cette métaphore représente une partie du concept du projet : un voyage le long de la route de la soie. Une sorte de migration musicale, inspirée des modes structurels (appelés Makam ou Makhom) de l'Est, et retrouvant en chemin l'improvisation inhérente au jazz. Une migration qui rappelle celle de personnes fuyant les guerres, déplacées d'Asie Mineure et du Moyen-Orient vers les Balkans, la Méditerranée et l'Europe.
